Oh the possibilities 2.
I just discovered True Up. It is a fabulous site devoted to FABRIC! So I have taken her idea and brought it to this website with my "Daily Swatch." Check it out over there on the right.

Today's art is by an artist named Laura Sue. Her artwork can be purchased at the Earth Art shop on etsy.

Oh the possibilities!
I see fabric and I think possibilities. Not that I'm a particularly fabulous seamtress. I think I get this imagination from my grandmother. She was a fabulous seamstress. As a little kid, I would sit in the bottom drawer of her sewing table while she sewed. I loved all the different colors and patterns. I still do. My grandmother could spend hours in a fabric store, touching every piece she walked by. Right now I'm thinking of all the different things I might make with these patterns from Fabric Stash. Perhaps one of them will make an appearance on a Crafty Friday.
These are a few of my favorite things.
I participated in my first swap a little while back. Bree over at Life at Life at 123 House hosted a "Favorite Spring Things" Swap (check out her adorable logo up there). My partner sent me all sorts of neat little objects . . . everything from mango soap to spring-y spools of ribbon! I liked it so much I started swapping more on Swap-bot. There you can swap everything from $ store finds to art to bucket lists. It is rather addictive. I love getting things in the mail and meeting new people!

I just discovered Whitney Smith Pottery. It is gorgeous. I just LOVE the cake stand with the little birds. Well, I love it all. Check her shop out on etsy.

Crafty Fridays
I've decided to start a new post on Fridays, too! Each Friday I'm going to post a link to a new craft project and the following Friday I'll have my finished product along with a new project link. I've been wanting to do more crafting and hopefully this will motivate me to actually do it!
This week is the knitwit from the Martha Show. I'm making this little guy for my niece. I plan on sock shopping tomorrow. I also plan on making a Black Apple doll this weekend.

I love a challenge!
I just found this great site with monthly baking challenges! This month's ingredient is vanilla. I can't wait to get home and start planning my vanilla recipes! Check it out . . . and bake away!

Artful Wednesdays
I'm starting this new weekly posting. I'll share an artist that I have recently discovered each week. This week, I picked Sarah Blank. Here's some info. from her website:
"I enjoy painting beautifully strange worlds and curious characters. In my work I am influenced by myth, fairy tales and personal experiences in the natural world. I am constantly on a treasure hunt for subject matter for my paintings and drawings. I scavenge treasures on the forest floor and in antique and thrift shops. Sometimes I construct little narratives for my work but most of the time I rely on my subconscious and let the story unfold."
Her artwork can be purchased on her etsy site.

Pretty in Pink Birthday Soiree
I thought I'd share these photos of a birthday party I threw for a friend. It was held on my front porch on a lovely Spring day. Everything was pink -- check out the pink lemonade! The cake, which I don't seem to have a photo of, was a fondant-covered pink handbag. Even the guests wore pink. Why my friends put up with me I'll never know.
No Spring Daisies.
It has unfortunately come to my attention that my most favorite little show will not be coming back until Fall. Absence does make the heart grow fonder, I suppose. And for any of you who haven't checked it out. Do. It is visually delicious! I adore the look and whimsical nature of the show. And seriously, who wouldn't love a show in which the main character is referred to as "The Piemaker."
Bizarre, and yet I want one.
You can have your own DNA mapped and framed for a mere $390! Get a kit from DNA 11, swab, and send. It's that simple. This is weird, but cool. I can't help but wonder how my and Scott's DNA would look hanging over the sofa.

Hot off the presses.
The new Jennifer Weiner book, Certain Girls, comes out this week. Yay! It should be a fun read. It is apparently a sequel to her first novel, Good In Bed. I shall let you know what I think!

My birthday is coming up, dear.
I love this artwork from Hide N Seek on Etsy. This illustration is called "He Says He Can Hear The Forest Whisper." It is so sweet and simple.
Cute little cupcakes towels from Indie Fixx Shop by Artgoodies would be most appealing in my kitchen.

Is this house for sale?
I love this home featured in Cottage Living. The 1925 cottage is owned by the Nanci Bell of Carmel, CA. We definitely need to redecorate the living room! I am inspired!

Sweet Cream Cheese Goodness
In my opinion, there are very few things better than cream cheese. These Cream Cheese Swirl Blondies are from the new Martha Stewart's Cookies. They just beg for a tall glass of milk!
Sweet Dreams
Our dogs need this! They want one and they don't even know it exists. How cute is that? A steak pillow! It can be found on etsy and is made by Midnight Snack.

Nest Obsessed
Lately, I have been obsessed with nests. Somehow I'm drawn to them! Perhaps it is related to the little sparrows that have built a nest and laid their eggs in the lantern hanging on my porch this Spring. Here are some of my "nest finds" from Etsy.
1. Tags from Sunshine and Ravioli.
2. Nest painting from Kellydesigns.
3. Darling egg soaps from Pixie Potions.
4. Cute thank you notes from Megan Creates.
5. Baby tee from Farm Girl Dry Goods.
6. Three canvas painting from Amy Giacomelli.
