My birthday is coming up, dear.

I love this artwork from Hide N Seek on Etsy. This illustration is called "He Says He Can Hear The Forest Whisper." It is so sweet and simple.

Cute little cupcakes towels from Indie Fixx Shop by Artgoodies would be most appealing in my kitchen.

Is this house for sale?

I love this home featured in Cottage Living. The 1925 cottage is owned by the Nanci Bell of Carmel, CA. We definitely need to redecorate the living room! I am inspired!

Sweet Cream Cheese Goodness

In my opinion, there are very few things better than cream cheese. These Cream Cheese Swirl Blondies are from the new Martha Stewart's Cookies. They just beg for a tall glass of milk!

Sweet Dreams

Our dogs need this! They want one and they don't even know it exists. How cute is that? A steak pillow! It can be found on etsy and is made by Midnight Snack.

Happy Happy Birthday

Just thought I'd share some (bad) photos of a cake I made for a friend's birthday. It was a layer cake with chocolate and vanilla layers with Strawberry Jam between. It was frosted with buttercream and decorated with royal icing roses.

Nest Obsessed

Lately, I have been obsessed with nests. Somehow I'm drawn to them! Perhaps it is related to the little sparrows that have built a nest and laid their eggs in the lantern hanging on my porch this Spring. Here are some of my "nest finds" from Etsy.
1. Tags from Sunshine and Ravioli.
2. Nest painting from Kellydesigns.
3. Darling egg soaps from Pixie Potions.
4. Cute thank you notes from Megan Creates.
5. Baby tee from Farm Girl Dry Goods.
6. Three canvas painting from Amy Giacomelli.

Attention History Buffs

My husband and I have watched the first two installments of this miniseries, which is based on David McCullough's Pulitzer Prize-winning biography. It is very well-made. Paul Giamatti stars as John Adams and Laura Linney as Abigail Adams. Apparently, Abigail Adams had some spunk. I really want to learn more about her! Check it out.

Bow Wow Birthday Chow

Yesterday was Nigel's birthday, and his adoring owner (and my husband) bought him a birthday cake from River Dog Bakery. The cake was banana with cream cheese frosting and peanut butter decorations. Nigel is 4 years old. Needless to say, Nigel dove right in. We learned last year that it is necessary to ahve a newspaper "placemat." He's a bit of a messy eater. He didn't want to share with Parker, but we made him. We had to grab the cake and run to keep him from gobbling down the whole thing.

Things I Heart

Cupcake pendant from Uncommon Goods. Handmade in Boston by Beth Falk.

Since I just started a new job and moved into a new office, office supplies are on my mind. These are from See Jane Work.

Ceramic berry baskets from Uncommon Goods.

And my favorite find in a while . . . this cute little bird's nest pendant from Starry Designs. You can check out all her jewelry in her Etsy shop.

Sick & Tired

Between starting a new job and having the flu . . . I haven't been much into the posting lately. But I'm back!!!! I'm still trying to kick a nasty cough and settle into the world of criminal law, but I've got cookies to bake and crafts to make!
